New Shelter Fund, 2024
In almost all the small towns and communities in Ontario, you will find a central park where a small stage, gazebo or pavilion is found, used to host special occasions or provide shelter from the elements. The Shelter in Duclos Point Park was designed to fulfill the same purpose, located near the children’s playground and just north of the tennis courts. As the years pass, we hope that it will be the focal point for many events and memories in the park.
The Shelter Committee had spent the better part of a year developing the specifications of the shelter and then another year arranging the design and construction. With the help of the community over five years, and private donations representing almost two thirds of the cost, we exceeded our fundraising target. The Shelter has been installed and is ready for use!
New Playground Fund, 2015
The playground is a very special project as at one stage or another, most members will have children, grandchildren or guests who will benefit from this over the years to come.
The Playground Committee has spent the past 1.5 years work to bring a new playground to Duclos Point. With the help of the community and private donations we have reached out fundraising target. The playground has been installed and is ready for use!
Tennis Courts Fund, 2013
On behalf of all members, we extend a special thanks to the incredible gesture of 16 families (most of who don’t even play tennis!) who have made it possible for us to fund approximately just half that cost with funds set aside from our annual dues. A great success
Also, on behalf of all members, we extend a special thanks to the members of the Tennis Court Committee who obtained and reviewed multiple bids for the project, solicited donations and provided the Board with the necessary details to make an informed choice of contractor.
